HMRC alters penalty rules for those under “immense pressure”

No penalties for those filing by 28th February

SELF ASSESSMENT TAX RETURNS should still be returned by the deadline on 31st January.  However, HM Revenue and Customs (HMRC) has today announced there will be no late filing penalties for those who file online by 28th February. Although interest will still be charged.
We will continue to work hard to submit all tax returns by 31 January – but if you just cannot get the requested information back to us in time, then we can now submit your return by 28th February without having to appeal the penalties as we had previously expected.

Please do get in touch with any queries or concerns you may have. We are here to help. You can contact us by telephone on 01425 877700 or by email: flourish@hub.accountants.
